ASTM A179 for seamless cold-drawn low-carbon steel heat-exchanger and condenser tubes.
This standard covers tubes 1/8 inch to 3 inch (3.2~76.2) mm
with thickness 0.015 inch to 1/8 inch (0.4~3.2) mm
A179 tubes shall be made by the seamless process and shall be cold drawn
The tubes shall be heat treated after the final cold draw pass at a temperature of 1200 F (650 C) or higher.
A179 steel pipe should be test according to ASTM standard
